Current level as of 2/6/2012 @ 11:30 am: 49.71 ft.

By checking these readings and then comparing that number to the related numbers below, you will be able to determine it's relationship to good or poor paddling. This will be very helpful in planning your paddling adventure so you can have more enjoyment with less problems.

Numbers indicate feet above sea level.

60' & up Use caution, current very swift.
50' - 60' Excellent water level for canoeing or kayaking.
49' - 50' Still manageable from White Springs downstream, but shallow water problems may occur.

These readings are for around the White Springs area and are not meant for the whole Suwannee River. Contact us for any information concerning your trips and we'll help you the best we can. Note: Big Shoals is the only Class III white water in the state of Florida. It is located 5 miles upstream from Highway 41 in White Springs. Be aware of its location. For safety reasons, we never suggest anyone shoot the shoals for safety reasons. There is a portage trail on the east side of the river that will take you around the shoals. For safe passage we suggest you use this trail.
